Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE ANTIQUE CLEAR GLASS COLONIAL BELLE PATTERN TOOTHPICK HOLDER EAPG 2 of 2 A beautiful piece of early American made pattern glass (EAPG) in the form of a lovely little toothpick holder with eight panels around the body. It was made by an unknown maker but the pattern is known as the “Colonial Belle” pattern. It is a quality piece of pressed crystal or clear colored glass. Please be sure to read the “Age and Condition” paragraphs below This was part of my Mother’s toothpick holder collection and according to her records she acquired this one in 1982. This pattern is pictured in the book Glass Toothpick Holders: Second Edition by Neila & Tom Bredehoft and Jo & Bob Sanford on page 216. It is also pictured in the book Rare & Unlisted Toothpick Holders by William Heacock on page 48 as Photo # 1249. This is a beautiful example of this toothpick holder! If you are not familiar with the NTHCS (National Toothpick Holder Collectors’ Society) it is a great organization and you can learn more about them and collecting toothpick holders at their following website. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. Age and Condition This piece dates to circa 1910. It is in excellent to near mint original condition. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. There is some extremely minor roughness (very tiny flea bites) to the top rim and the foot and also some sharpness to the mold seam on the foot. To me, this is very minor and consistent with and exactly what I would expect to see on a piece of glass of this age. Otherwise, there are no chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. Approximate Dimensions About 2.25” (5.7 cm) in diameter at the top rim and sits about 2.25” (5.7 cm) off the table. Approximate Weight About 3 ounces (85 grams).
