eBay I am sorry to be parting with my customized Electra outlaw X-740. This is most likely the finest example of this model you will ever find. The sale includes a Phase Shifter module. I upgraded the pickups To a Seymour Duncan Super Distortion in the bridge and a Gibson Burstbucker Pro in the neck position. These were made at a time when the quality coming out of Japan, specifically the Matsumoku plant, rivaled and even exceeded the quality coming out of the Gibson plant. The Pick ups were really the only weak point in these guitars and that is why I chose to replace them. I also had the brass nut replaced with a bone nut but the original brass nut is in the case and included in the sale. I also replaced the jack due to crackling and the original is also in the case. It also has Seymour Duncan strap locks installed. For those of you that don’t know this guitar has neck through construction with a three piece maple neck with a walnut strip on each side running through the body. It also has Grover Bulls Eye tuners and an ebony fretboard. You can learn more about these by going to the RiverCityAmp/Electra website. Now for the condition of the guitar. The front, back, neck and headstock are flawless. The only marks on the guitar are on the bottom edge of the lower bout. There are 2 small marks close together and 1 more a few inches away. I photographed them all in the interest of full disclosure. They are extremely small and you really have to look the guitar over carefully to see them. The frets have little to no wear and it was set up by the same Luthier here in San Diego that did all the other work on the guitar. No hobby work here. The neck has the standard «Outlaw» profile which is between narrow and medium and the action is set low and the intonation was adjusted as well. It comes with a Washburn case that has been modified with some foam to fit the guitar very snuggly. These guitars are extremely hard to find cases for due to their unique shape. The gibson SG case doesn’t even come close to fitting this guitar. I do have a custom road case made for the Outlaws that has custom foam cut out that I could include in the sale for an additional cost that could be negotiated.
