Art-Modes et Frivolités» : (1912-1925) Revue de mode luxueuse fondée fin 1912 à Paris par Lucien Vogel et Michel de Brunhoff, publiée par la Librairie Centrale des Beaux-Arts, constituée principalement d’articles (certains par des écrivains comme Jean Cocteau, Pierre Mac Orlan, Raymond Radiguet, …) et d’ illustrations de mode, elle parut jusqu’en 1925 avec une interruption durant la Guerre de 1915 à 1920. Réalisées par les meilleurs illustrateurs du temps (George Barbier, Pierre Brissaud, Georges Lepape, André Edouard Marty, Charles Martin ,Bernard Boutet de Monvel, Raoul Dufy, Jean-Gabriel Domergue, Thayaht,…), inspirées des grands couturiers (Jeanne Paquin, Paul Poiret, Worth, Redfern puis Lanvin, Madeleine Vionnet, …) qui sont considérés comme»soutiens» de la Gazette, les gravures de mode comptent parmi les plus belles créations graphiques des années Art Nouveau et Art Déco. La Gazette parait en feuilles sous couverture illustrée. Chaque livraison contient des planches hors-texte en couleurs. La collection complète comprend 572 planches peintes au pochoir et 169 croquis. La naissance de la Gazette du bon ton est aujourd’hui regardée par les historiens comme un événement dans l’histoire de l’édition de mode. C’est la première revue qui allie souci esthétique, exigence de beauté et d’unité plastique ; c’est également la première revue qui rassemble autant de personnalités et talents variés. Cette revue aura une courte et irrégulière existence, un faible tirage, mais une influence considérable.
