eBay ONE small clutch gear, installed in clutch assembly, for 1988 — 1989 Sony EX-head models This gear solves infamous problem of EX-head Sony walkmans, produced around year 1989. These players are generally known as the ones with the most beautiful optical design. Unfortunately, mechanics used inside was not designed well because it is prone to various issues. The most known problems are cracked reel gears and cracked clutch gear, located under big pulley wheel. While problem with cracked reel gears can be easily fixed by gluing them to their reel shaft, clutch gear is different story. It is very tiny and too complex to be fixed. The only good solution is to replace it. This gear is very precisely made, using CNC lathe and gear hobing machine. There is lot of manual work involved. Kit includes only what is displayed on first image: — one small plastic gear — material: POM, as original one — dimensions: same as original PLEASE, read description and FAQ section before you send me the message or question. I get tens of messages every day and now it is not manageable for me to answer them all. However, if you have any question related to your, order, quality, shipping, feel free to ask. In most cases, replacing the ring, fixing center ring crack and adjusting motor speed (for non-quartz controlled models) is quick-win.
